Overview
Sweepster's 72-inch winter broom is designed specifically for cold-weather sweeping — clearing light snow, slush, sand, and salt from paved surfaces without the weight or damage risk of a snow blade. Ideal for sidewalk maintenance, parking garage access lanes, and situations where just sweeping surface snow and debris is preferred. Polypropylene bristles resist cold-weather brittleness. Used extensively by Canadian municipalities for winter maintenance.

Is This Right For You?
✅ Buy if…
- You apply sand or salt to icy or snowy surfaces as part of a snow removal contract
- You want a single attachment that works on a skid steer you already own
⛔ Skip if…
- You cover large distances — a dedicated spreader truck covers ground faster
- You spread liquid de-icer — these are dry material spreaders only
🔍 Also consider…
- Snow pusher if your primary task is pushing, not spreading
- A tow-behind spreader if a skid steer isn't your primary vehicle for this task
🔧 Machine Compatibility
Compatible with all skid steer brands and compact track loaders via universal SSQA quick attach. Mid to large-frame machines (S450–S750 class) are the best fit for this width.

Care & Maintenance
- Inspect broom fill length after every 20 hours of use — bristles below minimum length drag rather than sweep, waste time, and mask the fact that you need a replacement
- Clean debris wrapped in the drum core after every extended session — wire, hair, and root cause drum imbalance and stress the hydraulic motor bearings
- Grease drum bearing end caps monthly during active use periods
- Check hydraulic motor connections and angle cylinder fittings weekly — broom motors work hard and connection fittings loosen over time
- Store on end or off the ground so bristle fill doesn't take a permanent set under drum weight — brooms stored drum-down develop flat spots in the fill that affect sweep quality
