Overview
The TMG-SFM48 is a 48-inch hydraulic flail mower for compact to mid-size skid steers doing light brush clearing, pasture maintenance, and ditch cleaning. At 48 inches it works well in tighter spaces — between fence rows, along embankments, and in areas where a wider deck would be unwieldy. The flail rotor mulches cut material in place rather than throwing it, which is safer near roads and structures. Requires high-flow hydraulics. Available direct from TMG Industrial Canada with shipping to most Canadian locations.

Is This Right For You?
✅ Buy if…
- You operate a mini skid steer (Dingo, Boxer, Toro) and need a mowing attachment that fits the weight class
- Tight spaces, urban landscaping, or orchard row maintenance where a full-size machine can't maneuver
- You want contained discharge for safe operation near buildings, fences, or people
⛔ Skip if…
- You run a full-size skid steer — a standard flail mower gives better productivity and coverage
- Heavy brush is your main target — mini flails are built for grass and light vegetation only
🔍 Also consider…
- Standard flail mower sized for your full-size skid steer if applicable
- Rotary cutter for light brush on mini skid steers with appropriate flow
🔧 Machine Compatibility
Compact size fits small-frame machines (S70–S185 class) as well as mid and large-frame loaders. Universal SSQA mount works with all major brands.

Care & Maintenance
- Inspect all flail hammers before every use — broken or missing hammers unbalance the rotor; a single missing hammer at high RPM creates destructive vibration
- Replace flail hammers in matched sets to maintain rotor balance — even one missing hammer causes vibration that damages drive motor bearings
- Grease rotor shaft bearing housings after every 8 hours of cutting
- Remove wrapped wire, twine, and root material from around the rotor shaft after every session — wrapped material cuts through shaft seals and causes bearing contamination
- Check the hydraulic motor case drain line for leakage after extended work in thick material — a restricted drain causes shaft seal failure and catastrophic motor damage
