John Deere rock grapple attachment on a skid steer

Overview

The GR84B is John Deere's 84-inch rock grapple — a wider version of the GR72B designed for large-frame skid steers and CTLs doing high-volume land clearing, large site cleanup, or commercial demolition debris work. The wider opening capacity means fewer grabs to clear the same area, which matters on big acreage clearing and commercial jobs. Weld-in serrated cutting edges and high grapple forces remain the same as the GR72B. Canadian contractors clearing standing timber or large rock piles will use the GR84B where the additional width justifies the larger machine requirement. Available in Canada through Brandt.

Key Facts

Is This Right For You?

✅ Buy if…

  • You handle large boulders, rip-rap, or irregular rock that a bucket can't safely grip
  • You work in quarrying, shoreline work, or heavy land clearing

⛔ Skip if…

  • Your rock is small and uniform — a rock bucket moves volume faster
  • You need to sort debris — a grapple with fingers works better for mixed piles

🔍 Also consider…

  • Industrial grapple for mixed debris with some rock
  • Rock bucket if you're loading and moving more than sorting
🔧 Machine Compatibility

Compatible with compact track loaders and large-frame skid steers (S750+ class). Verify your machine's rated operating capacity (ROC) before ordering.
