John Deere hydraulic grapple attachment on skid steer

Overview

A 72-inch hydraulic grapple in John Deere's Worksite Pro line. The HG72 is a root-and-brush grapple style — wide tine spacing for grabbing loose brush, root balls, and debris piles that would fall out of a closed bucket. One cylinder opens and closes the lid. The 72-inch width is the right size for mid-frame machines running land clearing, acreage cleanup, or logging slash removal. Requires one auxiliary hydraulic circuit. Available in Canada through Brandt.

Canada Availability

Available in Canada through Brandt / John Deere Worksite Pro. Common on Western Canadian acreage and land clearing work.

Best for: brush, root balls, land clearing debris, demolition waste, acreage cleanup

Is This Right For You?

✅ Buy if…

  • You clear brush, saplings, slash, and debris that a bucket can't grip
  • You work on land clearing, right-of-way maintenance, or post-harvest cleanup

⛔ Skip if…

  • You move dense solid loads like rock, sand, or gravel — a grapple loses material through the tines
  • Your primary task is loading trucks — a GP bucket is faster for dense material

🔍 Also consider…

  • Industrial grapple if you also handle large rocks or demolition debris
  • Stump grinder if stump removal is part of the job
🔧 Machine Compatibility

Designed for John Deere machines but mounts to any skid steer or CTL with a universal SSQA quick-attach plate.
