Is This Right For You?
✅ Buy if…
- You install T-posts, U-posts, or round wood posts for farm fencing, property lines, or temporary enclosures
- Ground conditions are mixed — impact drivers work in clay, gravel, and rocky ground that vibratory can't penetrate
- You want to add fencing capability to your skid steer without a dedicated fence post machine
⛔ Skip if…
- You install hundreds of posts per day — a vibratory driver is significantly faster in suitable soil conditions
- Large timber piles or structural posts are your main product — a heavy-duty driver handles that range better
🔍 Also consider…
- Vibratory post driver for faster installation in soft to medium soils
- Heavy-duty post driver for large wood posts and difficult ground
🔧 Machine Compatibility
Designed for Gehl machines but mounts to any skid steer or CTL with a universal SSQA quick-attach plate.
About Gehl in Canada
Gehl is a US equipment and attachment manufacturer with Canadian dealer coverage. Gehl attachments are designed to pair with their skid steer line but are compatible with other machines. Gehl dealers are present in most Canadian provinces and can support both machine and attachment service.
Care & Maintenance
- Grease all impact guide bushings and driver head fittings before every use — the impact energy transmits through these components on every blow
- Inspect driver cap or guide inserts after every session — worn or cracked guide caps split wood posts and bend T-posts, which then jam inside the driver tube
- Check hydraulic hose connections and the pressure accumulator (if equipped) before each use
- After work in clay or mud, clean the guide tube interior to prevent soil compaction that restricts post insertion and causes the posts to jam
- Inspect the impact guide rod monthly for scoring or deformation — a scored rod causes erratic impact energy and accelerated bushing wear
