Care & Maintenance
- Check carbide tooth torque before every use — loose teeth eject at high RPM and can cause catastrophic cutterhead damage or injury
- Replace carbide teeth in matching pairs (left-right balance) to maintain cutterhead balance and reduce destructive vibration
- Grease cutterhead drive spindle bearings after every 4 hours of operation — grinding generates significant heat and vibration that accelerates lubricant breakdown
- Clean wood chips and soil from the motor ventilation shroud and belt drive area after every use — blocked ventilation causes motor overheating
- Inspect hydraulic motor fittings for loosening after hard-material sessions — the constant vibration of grinding loosens threaded fittings progressively
