Yanmar Compact Track Loader Attachments — Compatibility Guide

Yanmar completed the launch of their full compact track loader lineup in 2024 — the TL65RS, TL75VS, TL80VS, and TL100VS. These are construction-grade CTLs built on over 100 years of Yanmar engine expertise, with load-sensing hydraulics, standard suspended seats, and universal quick-attach compatibility. Here's what you need to know about running attachments on a Yanmar CTL.

Yanmar is well-established in Canada through their mini excavator and compact equipment lines, and the TL-series CTLs extend that presence into the track loader market. Built at a U.S. manufacturing facility and backed by a 2-year/2,000-hour warranty, these machines are designed for the North American construction, utility, and rental markets. Yanmar CTLs are available through Yanmar Compact Equipment (YCE) dealers across Canada.

Note on the TL100VS: The TL100VS offers an exceptionally high high-flow output of 41 GPM — one of the highest in the class. This makes it capable of running the most demanding forestry mulchers, large cold planers, and heavy-duty rotary cutters that other similarly-sized machines cannot power. If high-demand attachments are central to your operation, the TL100VS is worth comparing closely against the competition on this spec.

Load-Sensing Hydraulics: What It Means for Attachments

Yanmar's TL-series machines use a load-sensing hydraulic system rather than a fixed-displacement pump. This means the hydraulic system only produces the flow and pressure actually needed for the current task, rather than running at full output continuously. The practical effects for attachment use:

Load-sensing systems are common on higher-end CTLs. Most attachment manufacturers design their products to work with both fixed-displacement and load-sensing systems, but if you're running specialized or older attachments, confirm compatibility with the attachment supplier.

Quick-Attach: Universal SSQA Standard

All Yanmar TL-series compact track loaders use the universal skid steer quick-attach (SSQA) standard — the same mounting system used by Bobcat, Case, Cat, JCB, Kubota, John Deere, and virtually all other major brands. Yanmar also offers a hydraulic quick attach option on the TL100VS, which allows pin engagement and release from the cab.

What this means in practice:

What You Can Run on a Yanmar CTL

Standard Flow — All Models (21–25 GPM)

Buckets Pallet Forks Snow Pushers Snow Blades Angle Brooms Augers Post Drivers Dozer Blades Landplanes Power Rakes Grapples Stump Grinders Hydraulic Breakers (medium) Cement Mixers

High-Flow Required High Flow

Mulchers (forestry grade) Cold Planers Heavy Flail Mowers Heavy Rotary Cutters Breakers (large class) High-Output Snow Blowers

High-flow is an option on all four Yanmar TL models. The TL65RS and TL75VS have relatively modest high-flow outputs (26.7 GPM) — sufficient for many high-flow attachments, but check the minimum flow requirements of any specific mulcher or cold planer before purchasing. The TL80VS (34.3 GPM) and especially the TL100VS (41 GPM) are well-suited to the most demanding forestry and ground-engaging attachments.

Attachment Recommendations by Machine Class

TL65RS — Compact Radial-Lift

Best suited for landscaping, light construction, and general material handling. Standard-flow attachments cover the full range of typical tasks. The radial-lift path is ideal for loading and digging at lower heights. High-flow is available but the 26.7 GPM ceiling limits which high-demand attachments are compatible — verify minimum flow requirements before ordering a mulcher or cold planer for this model.

TL75VS and TL80VS — Mid-Range Vertical Lift

The TL75VS and TL80VS are versatile vertical-lift machines suited for construction, land clearing, and production work. The TL80VS's 34.3 GPM high-flow output opens up a wider range of forestry attachments and medium-class cold planers. Both models handle the full standard-flow attachment range with ease.

TL100VS — Large-Class CTL

At 3,780 lbs ROC and 41 GPM high-flow, the TL100VS sits at the top of Yanmar's CTL lineup and competes directly with large-class machines from Bobcat, Case, and Cat. This machine is appropriate for serious land clearing (forestry mulchers, disc mulchers), infrastructure work (large hydraulic breakers, cold planers), and high-production applications. The hydraulic quick-attach option is a practical choice for operators who change attachments frequently.

What to Ask Your Yanmar Dealer

  1. "What is my model's aux hydraulic flow — standard and high-flow if equipped?" Confirm in GPM from the dealer or operator manual.
  2. "Is high-flow installed on this unit?" High-flow is an option — confirm it's actually installed, especially on used machines.
  3. "What operating pressure does the aux circuit produce at standard vs high flow?" Some attachments have both minimum flow AND maximum pressure requirements.
  4. "Does this machine have the hydraulic quick-attach option?" The standard system is manual pin engagement. The hydraulic option is available on the TL100VS — ask if it's configured.
